Govt to Launch Mega Free Online Coaching Network to Relief Students from High Private Tuition Fees

Building on PM Modi’s announcement, the new interactive platform aims to support over 10 million aspirants for JEE, NEET-UG, and future competitive exams.

In a major move to relieve middle-class families from the financial burden of expensive private coaching institutes, the Ministry of Education has initiated work on a massive, nation-wide free online coaching network. Prompted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day announcement, Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi recently held a high-level meeting with ministry officials to finalize the roadmap for this ambitious digital learning platform.

Key Highlights of the Initiative

Massive Scale & Capacity: Unlike the existing 'SATHEE' portal—developed with IIT Kanpur, which currently hosts 20 lakh registered students—the proposed interactive network will be engineered to simultaneously handle over 1 crore (10 million) students.

Extensive Reach via CSCs: The network will connect schools and colleges up to Class 12 nationwide, alongside local Common Service Centers (CSCs), ensuring high-speed accessibility in rural and semi-urban areas.

Phase-Wise Exam Coverage: The initial rollout will focus on engineering (JEE) and medical (NEET-UG) entrance exams, with plans to expand into SSC, UPSC, and other competitive examinations in subsequent phases.

24/7 Interactive Learning: Designed to compete directly with private coaching brands, the platform will offer round-the-clock assistance, real-time doubt resolution, and interactive virtual lectures.

Expert Educator Onboarding: The ministry is identifying top educators across academic institutions and collaborating with private sector experts to ensure high-quality content delivery.

Targeting a launch within the coming weeks, the government aims to deploy the platform in time to assist students preparing for the upcoming JEE Main exams.
